The Sorted story dates back to the Christchurch earthquake in 2011, when Kris and Sarah Webster had to relocate their Gumboot, Shoe and Apron manufacturing business, Sandford Industries Limited (2010).
Same as for many other businesses in Christchurch, the earthquake had destroyed the building Sandford Industries was operating in. Having viewed 23 potential new sites around Christchurch, the couple´s only option to support the power supply for the machine required to run the manufacturing plant was a 1700m2 warehouse in Treffers Road. As the building was 3 times larger than necessary, Kris had the idea to use this space as a warehouse facility. With his 12 years of experience in the courier and transport industry in NZ and the United Kingdom and an existing workforce that had already been exposed to the importance of running an exceptional Logistics Operation, the Sorted story was born.
After 3 years of success and continuous growth in the industry, Kris decided in May 2014 to share his ownership with Rewi Te Whatu and gain support in leading the business. Kris and Rewi had been sharing a business relationship and friendship for several years due to their common work at PBT and Rewi did not have to think twice about this opportunity. The business flourished and Sorted Logistics made itself a name. Nevertheless, Kris and Rewi had the passion for a business not only warehousing, but also transporting goods and offering clients a full supply chain solution. Therefore, in September 2015, Kris and Rewi bought WA Brown, a long established medium sized logistics and transport company in Christchurch and merged both companies into one.
Today, Sorted Logistics takes care of 50 employees who operate in 7 warehouses, supported by a owned fleet of trucks and swing lifts, and trusted partnerships in the freight forwarding sector. We see ourselves as a modern Logistics Company which offers a great and individual supply chain solution to every one of our clients and build successful, longstanding relationships.
